Legion.Hapon Takes the First Road to Manila Cup Tekken 7 Tournament
Manila Cup 2017 is fast approaching and the various Road to Manila Cup events have already begun all over the metro. Yesterday at Chill-In Game Station, the first Tekken 7 Road to Manila Cup tournament was held with over forty players joining the action.
Many of the players were familiar faces from top teams in the country including players from Legion, Elite, FHZ, RPL, and newly formed teams SMD and Feudal. In this stacked tournament, it all came down to the wire between Legion players Hapon and Haji. Player Legion.Haji sported several characters in the tournament namely Xiaoyu, Lucky Chloe, and Nina, switching between these characters whenever he felt the need to. His opponent Legion.Hapon focused mostly on his main character Eddy throughout the tournament, but chose to use Kazumi instead against Legion.Haji in the grand finals. It was a counter-pick that worked well for Legion.Hapon earlier in the tournament, helping him drop Legion.Haji into the losers bracket.
The Kazumi pick didn’t work out in the grand finals as well as it did before for Legion.Hapon however, as Legion.Haji had made the necessary adjustments to his gameplay in order to force a bracket reset. In the final set of the tournament, Legion.Hapon chose to stick with Kazumi all the way, adapting to Legion.Haji’s Lucky Chloe with each match, and in the end coming out with a 3-2 victory for the championship.
The rest of the results are as follows:
