MET EVENTS PRESS RELEASE! – Doujin, AK Complete Philippine Pro Gaming League Tekken 7 Final Eight

Eight contenders will fight for a P200,000 prize pool!
  • The second season of the Philippine Pro Gaming League 2019, in partnership with Playbook Esports, once again, held qualifiers in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao in search for the country’s best Tekken 7 players.
  • Eight players—Manila’s PBE|Doujin, PBE|AK, SGD-Omega|Jules, and ReYLaND, Iloilo’s SecretBase | 2xTheTap and Nice Haps, as well as Davao’s CIG.Machinehead and CIG.Vermilion—will be advancing to the PPGL Tekken 7 main event.
  • The PPGL Tekken 7 main event will be held on August 9-11, 2019, venue to-be-announced.


MANILA, Philippines, June 30, 2019 — Since its inaugural season last year, the Philippine Pro Gaming League has established itself as a local dojo for Filipino Tekken 7 players. With help from Playbook Esports, the country’s biggest multi-title esports league has visited Davao, Iloilo, and Manila in search for the next national champion. As the Manileños wrapped up their qualifier yesterday, July 29, 2019, the final pool of the PPGL Tekken 7 main event candidates is finally set.

Luzon Qualifier:

  • Julius “SGD-Omega|Jules” Luzano

Visayas Qualifier:


  • Jaff Lemuel “SecretBase | 2xTheTap” Santos
  • Michael John “Nice Haps” Magbanua


Mindanao Qualifier:


  • Daniel “CIG.Machinehead” Eking
  • Raphael “CIG.Vermilion” Cueva


This batch, worthy of being called as eight of the Philippines’ current best Tekken 7 players, will face each other off in a best-of-five, double-elimination bracket to determine who will take home the lion’s share of the staggering PHP 200,000 prize pool.

  • Champion: PHP 90,000
  • 2nd Place: PHP 40,000
  • 3rd Place: PHP 24,000
  • 4th Place: PHP 18,000
  • 5th-6th Place: PHP 9,000 each
  • 7th-8th Place: PHP 5,000 each


The PPGL Tekken 7 main event will take place on August 9-11, 2019 at a to-be-announced venue. A live broadcast will also be free to watch on the official Facebook page of PPGL 2019.
