The biggest gaming convention in the country is back and along with it are the yearly BrawlFest tournaments. Last year, the Philippines was fortunate enough to host its own qualifier for the King of Iron Fist Tournament 2016. The stakes are even higher this year as the winner will have a chance to join the very first EVO Japan 2018!

The Tekken 7 tournament at ESGS – Brawlfest 2017 brought to you by PlayBook Esports will be on the last two days of the event, October 28 for pools and October 29 for the finals. Registration is Php 50.00 and players will need to have tickets for the event. If you’re interested in joining the tournament, you can fill up the registration form right here.

Tournament Details

Date: October 28, 2017 (Saturday) – Pools
October 29, 2017 (Sunday) – Finals
Venue: Brawlfest Area, ESGS 2017, SMX Convention Center, Pasay City
Registration Time: 10:00am-12:30am
*Walk-in registration still accepted

B. Prizes

Champion: Round Trip Ticket, board and lodging, and entry into EVO Japan + Trophy
2nd Place: Special Prize *To be announced on the day of the event
3rd Place: Cash Prize

C. Tournament Rules

-Format: 1v1 (Double Elimination)
-Best 3 out of 5 rounds per game
-Best 2 out of 3 games per match
-Winners Finals, Losers Finals and Grand Finals are Best 3 out of 5 games
-60 second timer
-No character lock
-Only loser can switch character
-Players may request blind pick
-RANDOM stage selection only
-Only PS4 consoles will be used
-Bring your own Fightsticks/Controllers
-All DLC characters are allowed

D. Rules on Accidental Pausing

Offended player will have the following options:
1. Take or win the round
2. Continue the match
If the offended player chooses to take/win the round. The following rules will be upheld.
a. Offended player has the life lead
– Both players will have to wait it out until the time ends
b. Offended player does not have the life lead.
– Offended player will hit his opponent until he gets the life lead then both players will have to wait it out until the time ends.
*Accidental Pause covers the following scenarios:
– A player accidentally hits the pause button on his/her controller pad or fightstick.
– A player’s controller pad or fight stick malfunctions, causing the game to be paused.
