TEKKEN 7 SEASON 2 – What’s Coming and How Do We Get It?
There’s only one week to go before the second season of TEKKEN 7 begins! What exactly are players supposed to expect in this new chapter of the game?
A lot apparently. From new characters to system changes, there’s a whole bunch of new content coming out to create a refreshing game experience for the players. Keep reading as we talk about what we already know about TEKKEN 7 Season 2.
Returning and New Characters
At the end of EVO 2018, Katsuhiro Harada and Michael Murray took the stage and announced the return of characters Lei Wulong and Anna Williams. These two characters will be accompanied by four other characters including The Walking Dead’s bat-wielding villain, Negan.
The other three unnamed characters have yet to be revealed and there’s no telling whether or not they will be characters from the old TEKKEN games or completely new additions to the roster.
The trailer shown at the end of EVO 2018 showcased some game footage from the upcoming Season 2 patch. Characters will have some of their moves changed property-wise and may even have some new ones added to their arsenals. Aside from that, a “wall bounce” mechanic will be added into the game or more specifically, will be available to every character in the game.
Geese actually already has a wall bounce mechanic but the move was rarely used if not at all. A new trailer was released showcasing how characters can take advantage of the new moves and the wall bounce mechanic in-game.
The TEKKEN Team will be adding a couple of new features to the game to assist new and experienced players alike. An auto-combo assist feature will be introduced allowing players to perform combos by simply pressing buttons repeatedly (much like Dragon Ball FighterZ). This feature was already available in the story mode of the game and will soon be usable in other game modes including online play.
For the more experienced players, the developers will be installing a progress bar for ranked play. This bar will show how far a player is from the next rank or from the previous one. Use this to pace yourself during the regular grind to True Tekken God Prime. (Please don’t use this to plug out before a demotion risk. That’s not who you use this feature.)
That’s Great and All, But When Tho?
Season 2 officially starts this September 6, 2018. All gameplay related updates (new moves, wall bounce, assists, and progress bar) will be available to everyone.
The new characters on the other hand will come at a price. The second season pass will cost 2,800 Yen or roughly Php 1,350. Purchasing this will give players access to Anna, Lei, Negan, and the three characters yet to be revealed, as well as some new costumes for characters customization.
Lei and Anna will also be available separately for those who aren’t interested in getting the whole season pass. They will cost 500 yen or roughly Php 240 each.
