The Kappa is a very vocal community that focuses on fighting games in the discussion website Reddit. They’re known for their frank approach on anything and everything that goes on in the fighting game community, from game releases to scandalous statements from FGC personalities. As early as 2014, Kappa has been sponsoring and sending players that they deem worthy to major tournaments. Now they’ve chosen top Korean player Jeondding to be their representative for Manila Cup 2017.

Known for his terrifying Eddy that has taken down many top players, and for his incredibly chiseled physique, Jeondding has men and women of the gaming community calling out his name. With Eddy absent in the game before the console version came out, he pursued a mastery of the supposedly “bottom-tier” character Lucky Chloe on whom he rose up the ranks of the Korean arcade scene.

His popularity grew more with his fifth place finish at EVO 2017 in Las Vegas, just over the best North American players. Jeondding also competed in the TEKKEN World Tour in Korea, and though he was unable to make it out of pools, he displayed his signature brand of Tekken against the top players of their community. Now he will be joining Guilty Gear player 310 at Manila Cup 2017 on September 8-10 in the Philippines, to represent the Kappa community in Tekken.

Congratulations to Jeondding! We’ll see you soon!
