It has been almost a year since the latest game installment in the Tekken series “Tekken 7.0” had reached the arcades in the Philippines. Now it has also been almost three months since the game was updated to its more complete version “Tekken 7: Fated Retribution” at arcades in Japan and Korea.

There has been no indication of any sort that the Tekken 7 machines in Timezone arcades all over the country will be updated any time soon. No announcements on the Tekken-net site has been made, and the last word we heard from Timezone Philippines was that most recent update from Bandai Namco that was available for the Philippines was the one for Wangan Maximum Midnight Tune 5DX.

However, in response to a tweet by username @BuddhaVibesz, the producer of the Tekken series Katsuhiro Harada mentioned that the delays concerning the update of Tekken 7 in Philippine arcades aren’t caused by Bandai Namco.

Filipino Tekken players have been less enthusiastic about Tekken 7.0 over the past few months since Tekken 7: FR came out in Japan and Korea. Most of them preferred to save their hard earned cash for the updated version which was expected to come out two to three months after the release.

Fortunately, Bandai Namco Entertainment Asia will be visiting the country soon as a major exhibitor during the Electronic Sports Gaming Summit 2016 (ESGS 2016) this October, and they will be bringing the latest console build of the game. They will also be working with PlayBook Video Game Lounge + Bookshop in hosting the Philippines qualifier for The King of Iron Fist Tournament 2016 Southeast Asia. This tournament will serve as a selection process to find out who will be representing the country in the grand finals to be held at the end of the year.
