Bandai Namco Announces International Tournament Series TEKKEN WORLD TOUR
Bandai Namco in partnership with Twitch has revealed a worldwide tournament series called the TEKKEN WORLD TOUR. The tour will qualify the best players Tekken 7 players from the Americas, Europe, and Asia-Pacific regions for the grand finals. These players will then battle it out for over $200,000 in prize money.
In order to qualify for the final tournament, players need to earn ranking points by joining live and online events in their respective regions. They must make their way up their regional leaderboards where the top 5 players will be selected for the grand final. The top 5 players of the three regions and the EVO 2017 champion will make up the 16 players of the final tournament.
There are currently 39 events in the TEKKEN WORLD TOUR schedule with 12 events for the Asia-Pacific region. Included in these events is the recently announced REV Major Philippines 2017 by PlayBook Esports, Thailand’s Thaiger Uppercut. Indonesia’s Abuget Cup, Australia’s OZHadou, Taiwan’s TWFighter Major, and South East Asia Major in Singapore.
